I'm experiencing video problems. What can I do?

Occasionally, users may experience problems with video display corruption. This is usually due to buggy video drivers. Try one or more of these steps:

    • Change the video mode of your card to 16,000 or 32,000 colors.

    • Go to the Puzzlepalooza Performance Settings dialog and check or uncheck Native transparency.

    • Show the Windows control panel, double-click on the 'Display' icon, click on the Settings tab, and click on Advanced (on some systems). Adjust the Hardware Acceleration slider towards 'None' and see if this makes a difference.

    • Upgrade to the latest video driver from the manufacturers' web site.

We encourage you to visit the web site of your video card manufacturer. They usually offer free driver upgrades. Here are a few sites for popular cards:

Please contact felix@visionx.com to let us know about video problems and if possible, any workaround you have discovered. Please let us know your operating system, video card, video mode, driver version and any other information you think might help us diagnose the problem.

How do I find lost pieces?

Sometimes you may drop pieces off the tray, or you may have resized the Puzzlepalooza window causing one or more pieces to be hidden. There are three solutions for this:

    • Undo the last command with Ctrl-Z or Edit|Undo or the undo button on the toolbar. This will bring the piece(s) back to where they were before you dropped them.

    • Use Edit|Arrange|Auto Arrange, which will ensure that all pieces are visible on the tray.

    • To avoid arranging all the pieces you've arranged, use Edit|Arrange|Find Lost Pieces. This will find any single pieces that have accidentally strayed outside of the tray.

Also check the other tray for pieces - it's easy to right-click on a piece and accidentally send it (and any connected pieces) to the other tray.

I'm no longer registered. How can I re-register?

If you're a registered Puzzlepalooza user but, for whatever reason, the program says you're not, please reinstall the Puzzlepalooza starter pack (see the next question). If you can't remember your registration keys, go to your members page. The keys are listed on this page.

How do I register Puzzlepalooza?

When you have bought and installed the starter puzzle pack, run ScreenThemes Puzzlepalooza to be prompted for the pack registration code, or if already running the trial version, you can click on the Help/Register Packs menu item. Once the pack is successfully registered, JPEG thumbnails will be unpacked into your ScreenThemes data folder, which you can access by pressing the ScreenThemes Images button on the Create New Puzzle dialog.

Why are there no scrollbars?

Puzzlepalooza tries to be as natural as possible for users. We want to encourage people to just enjoy the game instead of fiddling with scrollbars. If you need more space for your puzzle, try the Full Screen Mode available from the View menu.
