MARCH GREETINGS FROM AAJ

Visit our monthly welcome page, the quickest way to discover the latest happenings and noteworthy updates at All About Jazz.

This month we'd like to draw special attention to our two new AAJ newspapers (Seattle and Los Angeles), our new venue directory and the recent spike in the AAJ bulletin board membership.

JAZZ VENUE DIRECTORY GOES LIVE!

You can help build the Web's best jazz venue directory simply by adding your hometown jazz clubs. We're looking for volunteers to enter venues from every metropolitan area in the country. We've started with Philadelphia--if you would like to help, please submit the information here.

To see our venue search in action, go here, enter 50 for miles, 19064 for zipcode, then hit "GO" to see the results. Let's add all the clubs to this new system and make the directory useful for everyone.

Club owners who have been looking to add a link to their website from All About Jazz, now have an opportunity. Please take advantage of it.

JOIN OUR BULLETIN BOARD COMMUNITY

Nearly 400 new members have joined since our last newsletter. More folks than ever are talking jazz, trading CDs, teaching and being taught -- it's one of the most active and entertaining online music communities anywhere. And it's right here!

JAZZ IN PRINT: FROM TINSELTOWN TO THE EMERALD CITY!

This month marks the launch of two new All About Jazz printed newspapers: AAJ: Seattle and AAJ: Los Angeles. Feel free to download both versions as PDF files.

A hearty congratulations goes out to Seattle's Jason West and L.A.'s Fred Jung for making these papers happen and continue to happen for years to come. If you're out & about, be sure to drop by your local jazz club or record store for a copy.

We've also posted the latest issues of AAJ: New York and AAJ: Philadelphia.

CLASSIC CONCERT POSTER GIVEAWAY!

Enter our Jazz Age Poster Contest and become eligible to win 12 classic jazz concert poster prints. We'll announce the winners next week.

INTERVIEW & ARTIST PROFILES

This month AAJ chatted with Pharoah Sanders, Roy Haynes, Charlie Haden, Peter Cincotti, Evan Parker, Mike Clark, Erik Friedlander, Taylor Ho Bynum and Jimmy Amadie.

Look for interviews with Chick Corea, drummer Matt Wilson, and multi-instrumentalist and 9 Winds founder Vinny Golia in the coming days.

MUSICIAN'S DIRECTORY

If you're a jazz musician, be sure to add your profile to the AAJ musician's directory. It's free and it's a great way to drive traffic back to your website!

All the Best!

Mike & Chris
