This number correlates pretty closely to how much physical memory you
have remaining. As it approaches zero, you will find your PC getting
slower as it is forced to use the hard drive more and more.
Show Resources (16-bit version only) This is something like the available RAM percentage, but in 16-bit Windows, this is referred to as a measurement of "resources". Resources are difficult to define, except that Windows only has a finite number of them, and every program, every window, every control on every window, and every font uses resources. Depending on the version of Windows you are using, you should probably begin to close applications when this number falls below 20% to 30%. The 16-bit clock running under Windows NT always displays 90%. |
